IconVault's Color Name Finder answers the question every designer asks: what is this color called? Pick any color and it finds the nearest of the 148 CSS named colors by RGB distance, showing the name, a swatch and the exact hex. It is free and runs fully in your browser.

Named colors like rebeccapurple, papayawhip and dodgerblue are easier to remember and talk about than hex codes. The finder is handy for naming design tokens, writing documentation, or settling debates about whether a color is teal or turquoise.
