Text Fragment Links

Build #:~:text= deep links

5 of 5 free uses left

Text fragments (#:~~:text=) make the browser scroll to and highlight exact text on any page. They work in Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox 131+. Prefix and suffix narrow the match when the phrase appears more than once.

Add prefix or suffix when the phrase repeats on the page. The browser picks the occurrence that is wrapped by your context.

Generated link

https://example.com/article#:~:text=the%20quick%20brown%20fox,jumps%20over%20the%20lazy%20dog
Test the link (opens new tab)

Try it right here

This very page contains the sentence: the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog near the top of the article. Copy the link above, paste it in a new tab on any page containing that phrase, and the browser scrolls straight to it and highlights it in yellow.

Live highlight simulation

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet. The quick brown fox the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. Consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor.

The fragment part of your URL: #:~~:text=the%20quick%20brown%20fox,jumps%20over%20the%20lazy%20dog

About this tool

IconVault's Text Fragment Builder creates deep links that scroll to and highlight exact text on any page. Enter the page URL and the exact phrase, optionally add prefix and suffix context to disambiguate repeats, and get a properly encoded `#:~~:text=` link with a one-click test link that opens in a new tab.

Everything is free and runs fully in your browser: encoding, preview and copy all happen on your device. Prefix and suffix are the pro move most generators skip, they tell the browser which occurrence to pick when a phrase appears more than once.
